2015 690 dumps coolant and overheats. Before I parked my Duke for the winter a couple months back due to a back injury, the last day I rode it, the bike spewed coolant on my left leg and boot. As I headed home hoping the airflow over the engine would cool the temp down from 1-under full bar, the bike stayed at 1 or 2 under.

Optimal temperature with Powersynt seems to be around 17-23 degrees celsius. When going near 30 it starts to behave poorly, or so I've come to think.. mostly rough idling and shifting. I'm going to adhere to the manuals 7500 km interval.
My last oil and filter change was exactly one year ago. I am using Motul 300V 4T 15W-50 in this bike. I currently have only 1200 miles on this oil. I ride the bike at least 60-70 miles every time I take it out, so the oil always reaches the full operating temperature. Now, the owner's manual says to change the oil at least once a year.
I found out today that when you take your 1290 in for the 600 mile break in service, the techs reset the service warning light. When they do this they set when the next reminder goes. So mine just went off at 4000 miles. They said even though KTM suggests service at 9500 miles, they think that's too long and recommend an oil change in between.
I had this problem as well. Solution is hard to find, but once you know about it it’s easy. Just hover over the “settings” tab in the UI, and hold the set button until the reset service interval screen pops up. Set the interval to your preference, and then hold the set button again until the menu closes.
To check oil warning, ignition on, unplug pressure sensor and put wire to earth. Oil warning should show. To check oil pressure, remove pressure switch and connect pressure gauge, start. To check oil consumption, drain, fill with recommended motorex oil (1.8L i think.confirm) ride exactly 1000km, and drain into measuring container.

At 500 hours, the oil needs to be changed and there is a chance that the shock has been damaged. Under hard riding conditions, such as racing, oil should be changed every 10-20 hours. I might shoot for 50 hours on my dirtbikes/dual sports and I can definitely feel a difference in the suspension when it is done. #7.
